On August 15, the 2024 Shen Youguo Scholarship Fund awards ceremony was held at the Changzhou Municipal Administration Center. This year, the fund provided financial support to 42 students, including four recent university graduates, distributing a total of 165,000 yuan in scholarships.

Mr. Shen Youguo, originally from Wujin, built his early career in Hong Kong, where he achieved success in the restaurant industry before expanding his investments to mainland China. In 2008, through the coordination of the Changzhou Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, Mr. Shen and his wife, Mrs. Cai Rongdi, established the Shen Youguo Scholarship Fund in Changzhou. The fund is dedicated to supporting academically outstanding students from underprivileged backgrounds, helping them pursue their education and complete their studies successfully.

The Shen Youguo Scholarship Fund provides continuous support from primary school through university graduation, with annual disbursements ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 yuan per student. Over the past 17 years, the fund has received more than 6 million yuan in contributions and has supported 1,328 students, with total disbursements exceeding 4.31 million yuan.
