Changzhou has unveiled ten initiatives to promote child-friendly development in 2024, comprehensively addressing various aspects of child development, including education, health, safety, culture, and community spaces. The initiatives are as follows:

Inclusive Childcare Services: The city will establish 10 new and upgraded childcare centers and create 18 provincial-level model childcare institutions. Additionally, 500 community sessions on scientific parenting will be held. Kindergartens will see the addition of 176 inclusive toddler care classes, providing 3,520 new childcare spots.

Teenager Support and Protection: Changzhou will launch support programs for disadvantaged teens, building 120 "Dream Houses" and establishing eight new minor protection workstations (Care Homes).

Summer Care Classes: To assist working parents and vulnerable children, 250 summer care classes will be organized, benefiting children of full-time employees, disadvantaged teens, left-behind children, and children of migrant workers.

Health Programs for Children: The city will provide free HPV vaccinations for 16,000 first-year middle school girls and conduct spinal health screenings for 50,000 students. Every primary and secondary school, kindergarten, and community will establish a parenting school to support family involvement in education.

Early Intervention for Children with Disabilities: A comprehensive birth defect prevention project will be implemented, ensuring screenings for Down syndrome, genetic metabolic diseases, hearing issues, and congenital heart disease in newborns. Integrated services for early disability screening, diagnosis, and follow-up will be provided for 100,000 children aged 0-6.

Child Participation Programs: "Children’s Voice and Opinion" observation groups will be set up at various administrative levels, encouraging children to engage in civic activities. Programs such as "Seeing Child-Friendly Changzhou" and social practice activities like "Little Dragon City Guides" and "Little Book Repairers" will be introduced.

Child-Friendly Hospitals: Ten hospitals will be developed into child-friendly facilities, offering safer, more enjoyable, and comfortable environments for young patients.

Child-Friendly Communities: Ten new child-friendly communities will be built, integrating child-friendly elements into community development and upgrading older neighborhoods to create a supportive living environment with comprehensive facilities and services.

Child-Friendly Schools and Extracurricular Activities: Twenty new child-friendly schools will be established, along with a support system involving the government, schools, families, and society. Additionally, 15 child-friendly extracurricular activity bases will be created.

Child-Friendly Parks: The city will complete the construction of 10 child-friendly pocket parks and 100 child-friendly restrooms, enhancing public spaces to better serve children and families.
