In a bid to strengthen collaborative ties and fuel innovation, Changzhou held its 2024 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Invitational in Beijing on October 25. The event, hosted at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), brought together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers, all aiming to foster a future-focused, high-tech economy.

Chen Xiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and director of the Organization Department, delivered the opening remarks, underscoring the city’s commitment to strategic partnerships with renowned universities and their pivotal role in driving regional innovation.

The event attracted an impressive roster of participants, including CAS academician Qian Depei,  CAS Institute of Physics’ Party Secretary Zhao Zhigang, and the institute’s deputy director Cheng Jinguang. Representatives from venture capital firms and tech entrepreneurs from across Beijing were also in attendance. Of the 57 projects showcased, 28 highlighted cutting-edge advancements in areas such as new energy, artificial intelligence, new materials, and commercial aerospace, with the top 12 receiving awards.

Eleven of the highest-performing projects signed partnership agreements during the event, further anchoring Changzhou’s role as a magnet for innovation. Changzhou officials also introduced the city’s talent incentives to researchers from Beijing, presenting honorary cards offering special services and privileges to top talents.

The unveiling of the Beijing Office of the Changzhou Future-Industry Talent Hub was another highlight, set to serve as a gathering place for forward-looking leaders and innovators.
