Changzhou’s Xinbei district has recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Yoocar Network Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly establish a comprehensive testing platform for 5G-Advanced, vehicle-road-cloud integration, and robotaxi services. This partnership aims to create an innovation hub for intelligent connected vehicles and explore new applications in automotive connectivity.
As part of this partnership, suitable test routes in Xinbei will be chosen for developing innovative applications in autonomous vehicle intelligence and vehicle-road-cloud integration. The project will also involve scenario-based tests to verify robotaxi operations, or driverless taxi services.
Yoocar, a leading third-party platform in China’s automotive networking services industry, serves more than one million vehicles annually, with over 10 million connected users. Its major automotive clients include SAIC, Geely, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, and Dongfeng. In July, Yoocar (Changzhou) Network Technology Co., Ltd. was established to develop an intelligent computing platform for autonomous driving, featuring a closed-loop data toolchain and advanced driving development capabilities. Installation of the necessary equipment for this platform has already begun.
The vehicle-road collaboration system for autonomous driving essentially gives each vehicle a "God’s eye view," enhancing safety from an optimal perspective while efficiently managing road space and resources. This system ensures that all traffic elements work together harmoniously.
Leveraging its technological capabilities in end-to-end solutions, including 5G dual SIM technology, which allows vehicles to maintain seamless connectivity with two networks simultaneously, and advanced AI models, Yoocar plans to capitalize on Changzhou's automotive industry strengths to develop an advanced demonstration zone for autonomous driving and intelligent vehicle sector. This initiative is expected to create a cluster effect, drawing in more industry partners.
