Three towns in Changzhou have been named among China’s Top 100 Towns for 2024, according to the "2024 Report on Comprehensive Competitiveness of China's Towns," recently released in Hunan province. Hutang, Xuejia, and Yaoguan secured spots on the prestigious list, ranking 40th, 44th, and 82nd, respectively.
The report indicates that the Top 100 Towns for 2024 are spread across 11 provinces, with Jiangsu province leading with 40 towns, followed by Guangdong with 31, and Zhejiang with 10. The report highlights key attributes of these top-performing towns, including their strong appeal to residents, advantages in leading industries, proactive institutional reforms, and a steady rise in overall competitiveness.
The evaluation, which focused on the comprehensive competitiveness of China’s towns (excluding sub-districts, state-owned farms, and similar entities), assessed factors such as economic size, vitality, and per capita income levels.
