China’s first zero-carbon micro post office, a collaboration between Changzhou Post and Trina Solar, officially opened at the Trina Solar Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Xinbei District on June 12. This innovative facility has been recognized as a National Green Postal Service Demonstration Site by the State Post Bureau.
This multifunctional micro post office showcases a cutting-edge operational model introduced by Changzhou Post. It aims to enhance postal service quality and efficiency through on-site services, shared distribution, regional transit, and integrated offerings. The post office follows the principles of "zero-carbon concept + digital management," utilizing Trina Solar’s advanced smart energy technology to power the facility entirely with solar energy. All packaging materials are biodegradable, using recyclable plastic tape and boxes, and green recycling bins encourage sustainable practices. The facility operates 24/7, employing facial recognition for entry to enable round-the-clock parcel collection.
During its development, Changzhou Post successfully integrated Trina Solar’s internal administrative system with the postal service’s information platform. This integration allows Trina Solar employees to complete mailing operations through their internal work system, addressing inefficiencies and saving time for its 48,000 staff.
Coinciding with the launch, Changzhou Post introduced the Zero-Carbon Postal Route, forming a volunteer service team of top postal workers from across the city to promote green practices to households.
